Meet the founder
Dr Charlotte Kirk
Charlotte founded CruxLine after a decade developing, deploying and investing in energy and climate technologies - alongside a parallel career outdoors and on the frontlines.
- Energy technology, venture capital & industrial infrastructure
- Military service, elite endurance sport & extreme expeditions.
Through first-hand experience, she saw that clean energy & climate resilience solutions still weren’t reaching the people & places that needed them most.
So she founded CruxLine to connect outdoor communities with practical solutions, and invest catalytic capital to accelerate their deployment.
She holds a Chemistry PhD from Oxford University, was Head of Technology at Fortescue across a $6.2B industrial-electrification program, built Fortescue’s $100M corporate venture fund, launched Clean Energy Ventures in Europe, and has deployed $300M+ across 14 investments.
She served in the Army for 5 years as the first female in the infantry, and is an elite and sponsored endurance athlete racing across World Championships. She ran 90 consecutive ultramarathons on the Pacific Crest Trail, set the FKT running the 800km Camino in 11 days, and cycled 5,300km across New Zealand. She has led expeditions across more than 20 countries, whilst delivering clean energy, water & food projects.
